A well established, niche market, global training provider seeks a specialist Functional Skills Tutor.  The learners will all be studying towards level 3 - 6 apprenticeships.  This training provider operates nationally and its learners work for both levy payers and SMEs.  Despite these turbulent times, they have continued to thrive and grow the company and the apprenticeship provision.  The sectors in which they operate are very buoyant, so you'd get improved job stability here. 

The learners are national so it is home based and will require travel to the offices twice a month for standardisation and team meetings etc.  This company has really embraced remote working and has put into place some very innovative and fun methods for keeping their employees engaged.  They are a company who believe in high standards and hard work but as they saying goes, "work hard, play hard," and they certainly do that.  

They are an approved training provider for a wealth of bodies and have always and will continue to deliver high standards of training provision and learner care. 

As a Functional Skills Tutor for this company you'll be a great skills coach who will be delivering and assessing functional skills online as part of apprenticeship programmes.

You'll be the sort of Functional Skills Tutor who is serious about your role and it's importance to the learner in their learner journey.  You will assess your learners in line with Ofsted and other regulatory body guidelines.  

You will be the sort of Functional Skills Tutor who is exceptional in engaging with learners and helping those who have barrier to overcome them in a truly innovative way. 

 

Essential for the role of Functional Skills Tutor:

  • You must have delivered and assessed functional skills (English and Maths) within an apprenticeship setting and be au fait with how functional skills dovetails into the apprenticeship programme. 
  • You must be fully conversant with the delivery of English and Maths to level 2.  This is a dual role so you must be competent with both elements. 
  • You will possess qualifications to level 2 or above in English and Maths or functional skills. 
  • You will possess formal assessing and teaching qualifications. 
  • You will be expert in providing one to one coaching to learners who need additional support. 
  • Whilst this role is remote the company have invested heavily in interesting and fun ways to keep their staff engaged so the team don't feel isolated working from home.  This role would suit a fun loving team player who will embrace these ideas with the spirit for which they were intended.
